The past is another country...this year is the Isle of Wight!
For many young adults, this week is one of the most pivotal points in their life. As thousands of children up and down the country receive their exam results, homes are filled with either tears or laughter...but whatever the grades achieved it is not the end of the world if they are not what is expected or hoped for. Life is difficult and hard with challenges presented to us at every hour of every day. It is these challenges which mould us into the people we become. Which ever way our path takes us one should always remember to look to the future and not to dwell on the what could have been. Everybody has regrets and times that they could go back and change...its part of growing up, learning from our mistakes and evolving our attitudes to make us better and stronger. It is easy to feel sorry for ourselves and wish things could have gone differently, but it is not going to change our perspective or our life. People who dwell on the past can easily be dragged down into a mire of self pity which spirals further downward into depression. The past is the past, no matter what we do we cannot change what has been, it is important to look to the future to make ourselves better people and grow to our full potential.
